The experts examined optimization options for spring ecological reproductive release from the Dniester reservoir

The GEF Dniester project team presents the “Analysis of the goals, limitations, and opportunities for optimizing the regime of spring ecological reproductive release from the Dniester reservoir”, which is aiming to help the water sector professionals to effectively carry out releases, given their often conflicting and mutually exclusive objectives, requirements, and limitations.

The paper includes a comprehensive analysis of various scenarios for carrying out releases; a simple interactive “calculator” was developed to provide the approximate calculation and visualization of these scenarios.

In addition to this analysis, the project experts are currently analyzing the key hydrobiological parameters of releases.

The analysis was carried out as part of the GEF Dniester project at the request of the governments of Moldova and Ukraine.
