The Transboundary Diagnostic Analysis for the Dniester River Basin issued

A final version of the Transboundary Diagnostic Analysis for the Dniester River Basin (TDA, in English and in Russian) has been issued. The analysis has been developed by more than 30 representatives from Moldova and Ukraine, as well international organizations and experts from the European Union. The TDA has serves as basis for the draft Strategic Action Programme for the Dniester River basin until 2035.

The document has been developed in the framework of the national legislation of Moldova and Ukraine, and in accordance with the structure established by the EU Water Framework Directive. It contains a description of the basin, results of identification of surface and ground waterbodies, main transboundary issues and their causes, impact and pressures assessment on each water body, 16 maps and 7 infographics. Most of the presented work is unique, since such an analysis has been conducted for the first time in the Dniester basin states.
